It seems that having an app store is a trend that many product manufacturers or developers will venture into. Livescribe, the company famous for its low-cost mobile computing platform and its award winning Pulse SmartPen, has also joined the party now by rolling out its own app store for its 2GB/4GB Pulse Smartpen.
Like other app stores, Livescribe’ Pulse SmartPen app store offers a wide range of paid and free applications covering areas such as games, entertainment, tools, study aids, etc. The paid apps range in price from as low as $0.99 to $99. Users can search through the app store for the necessary app, download it and thence upload to their smartpan conveniently. Students can download some study aids such as dictionary, drawing program to draw and name Acyclic Alkanes, general knowledge, etc., while travellers can download some interesting games to occupy their time while travelling, and so on.
Livescribe App Store is currently in Beta. According to Livescribe, there are more than 5,500 registered developers within the community and more and more apps will be reaching the store.
